The ballot club members will cast to choose officers for 2014 has seen finalized by the Nominating Committee.

The three member committee chaired by Buddy Kimsey proposed nominees for each of the five offices. At the November 12 meeting no additional nominations were proposed, so the ballot looks like this:

President – James Blackburn

Vice President – Larry Bond

Recording Secretary – Bob McCall

Treasurer – Virginia Johnson

Corresponding Secretary – Bob Gault

Club members will vote on November 26.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Ladies’ Night Out! We had lots of good food, fellowship, and even some NCAA Football entertainment! This will be our last Ladies’ Night Out for 2013, as our next event will be the club Christmas party.

Don’t forget about the next club meeting on Tuesday, September 24th. The meeting will begin at 7PM at the clubhouse. We will be having a very educational presentation on D-STAR that night; you don’t want to miss it! Be there.

Also, don’t forget about the ACS meeting tonight. The meeting will be held at 7PM at the Bradley County EMA on Guthrie Drive. See you all there!

The next club meeting will be held Tuesday, September 10th at the clubhouse. The meeting starts at 7PM. Rumor has it we are selling nuts again this year (this does NOT include the nuts on the I.T. Committee, however.)

Also, don’t forget the Prater’s Mill swap meet is this Saturday at Prater’s Mill. It is usually a morning event so make sure you get there early. Come at lunch time and you’ll probably find an empty facility!

The Black Bear Rampage is this Sunday (September 8th), and all positions have been filled! Thank you to those who have volunteered to work this fine event. If you are signed up to work please do not forget to be there.

Don’t forget the 2013 September VHF Contest coming up on September 14th! We will be operating from the clubhouse that day, and there is talk about having “Ladies’ Night Out” that evening. This will be discussed at the club meeting Tuesday and we will let everyone know if this will happen or not. (If it does, we’ll need someone to bring corn.)

At our second meeting in September, we will have a presentation on D-STAR. This will be on September 24th, so mark your calendars!

Finally, don’t forget the Ten-Tec Factory Hamfest coming up on September 27th and 28th (Friday and Saturday.) If you’ve never been to this one, you really need to make it a priority!
